This course provides students with the basic requirement to begin working on the offshore shrimp and turbot fisheries. It covers basic seamanship and safe working practices, first aid and Marine Emergency Duties training. It is meant to get students into entry level positions in Nunavut’s growing offshore fisheries.
There will be two offerings of this course, one in November and one early in 2010. Both will be held in Iqaluit. NFTC encourages Nunavut beneficiaries from all across the territory to apply. Transportation to Iqaluit and accommodations will be provided by NFTC.
